Program Associate - Administrative & Engagement

Position Description:

The Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) is seeking a highly organized and creative Program Associate to support both the communications and administrative needs of the center. This role is equal parts strategic communicator and administrative assistant, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both crafting impactful messages and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

In this role, you will handle NRC's internal communications efforts, developing innovative strategies to engage stakeholders and highlight our cutting-edge research through newsletters, social media, and marketing materials. At the same time, you will serve as the primary administrative assistant to the NRC Director, managing schedules, coordinating events, handling travel logistics, and ensuring efficient operations.

Primary Functions Administrative Support & Operations
  • Serve as the primary administrative assistant to the NRC Director, managing schedules, meetings, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for seminar speakers and guests.
  • Assist in planning and executing NRC events (seminars, symposiums, annual Imagine More Dinner).
  • Organize and maintain the NRC Member Database.
  • Manage office supply inventory and general office organization.
  • Support onboarding of new NRC employees and maintain internal communication processes.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the NRC neighborhood (physical space updates, communications, etc.).
Communications & Outreach
  • Develop and execute communication strategies for NRC events, seminars, and initiatives.
  • Create compelling marketing materials, newsletters, and social media content (LinkedIn, Meta, X).
  • Manage email campaigns using Campaign Monitor and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to promote NRC's work to its 200+ members and external audiences.
  • Coordinate and maintain NRC's website content.
  • Attend internal brand strategy meetings to align communications with MCW standards.
  • Build relationships to expand audience engagement through innovative communication methods.

Position Requirements:

Specifications
  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Required Experience: 1 year
  • Preferred Education: Communications or related field
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in organic social media strategy. Basic content creation using Canva and/or Adobe platforms.
