In the role of Coding Practice Services Manager II you will be working in Clinical Practice Services. This role works independently under the direction of the Director of Billing & Collections to manage the activities of professional charge capture and coding. Provides direction and guidance to the team to support operations that maximizes revenue, meeting regulatory requirements. Consistently seeks out opportunities for process improvement and workflow efficiency.

Hybrid Work Arrangement: 95% Remote & 5% Onsite. This position is open to Wisconsin residents, as well as Illinois residents, who are able to come onsite at our Milwaukee location, as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain charge capture timelines, including tracking charge lags and follow up.
  • Oversee and manage Epic pre-AR coding, claims and account edits/work-queues.
  • Develop and manage budget.
  • Schedule people and material resources.
  • Directly supervises approximately 9+ direct reports and indirectly supervises 50+ coding specialists, leads & QA staff.
  • Perform coaching and mentoring of staff. Ensure appropriate on-going training and performance reviews are completed. Complete and document monthly rounding sessions with members of immediate team.
  • Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new charge capture staff, recommendation for promotions for existing team members, initiate and carry out corrective actions as necessary following department protocol and legal guidelines, establish performance guidelines/standards.
  • Prioritize and supervise work of direct reports and/or charge capture coding specialists.
  • Monitor governmental regulations and changes in healthcare industry to ensure compliance of charge capture processes.
  • Assure compliance with regulatory and institutional resources.
  • Oversee charge capture, analysis, and dissemination of data.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of charge capture statistics, performance, protocols, production, and quality materials and reporting.
  • Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events.
  • Oversee training for charge capture employees.
  • Coordinate and manage activities including acting as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assure data and updates on charge capture are reported to stakeholders.
  • Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and attentiveness to detail required.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to interact with people effectively.
  • Expert knowledge of medical billing and collections revenue cycle as it specifically relates to professional medical coding, reimbursement, contracting and processing payments.




Preferred Schedule:




Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.



Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Required Experience: 8 years' experience in multi-payer physician reimbursement with equivalent size scope.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications/Licenses: Certification in coding and/or healthcare compliance strongly preferred (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, CHC).

Preferred Experience: Experience within an academic medical setting.
