Pay information



  • Pay Level: 020
  • FLSA Category: Exempt - Salaried
  • Individual pay will be based on skills, experience, qualifications, location, internal equity, and other relevant factors.
  • Opportunities for continued salary growth through a performance-based merit program.
  • This position is eligible to participate in the company's sales incentive plan.



A day in the life

The Account Manager - Small Group/Mid-Market (SG/MM) is responsible for providing customer support and account management duties to assigned small group, mid-market and/or special market clients. This position serves as a point of contact for existing clients, maintaining positive relationships, and maximizing sales opportunities during the renewal process.

Your responsibilities will include



  • Focuses on retaining and growing existing accounts.
  • Promotes local service club and community involvement and attends local events to maintain presence in the market.
  • Crafts targeted strategies designed to meet specific client needs and provides product recommendations.
  • Meets regularly with assigned client accounts and ensures clients are consistently satisfied with the organization's products and level of service.
  • Provides information to clients about changes to products and underwriting policies and billing procedures.
  • Delivers member or client materials as needed.
  • Supports open enrollment meetings and provides client trainings, if applicable.
  • Identifies additional sales opportunities during the renewal process.
  • Maintains knowledge of company products in the healthcare industry, new service offerings,
    policies and procedures, and regulations impacting the business.
  • Keeps clients informed about company initiatives and programs highlighting the benefits to the
    consumer.
  • Collaborates with internal team members ensuring implementation and coordination of the renewal and sales activities are operating smoothly.
  • Ensures necessary documentation is completed and appropriate internal systems are updated.
  • Develops a professional rapport with clients to enhance new and ongoing business relationships.
  • Travel outside of core business location is required.



What you need to succeed



  • An Assoicates degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of Sales, marketing, account management or related experience is required with a strong knowledge of insurance industry and customer service experience.
  • Be a problem solver with the ability to research, analyze and define methods, practices, and procedures to resolve issues.
  • Desire to expand knowledge base as benefit practices continue to evolve in the workplace.
  • Clearly communicate and support employees in a variety of situations, while also being flexible and adaptable.
  • Brings a creative mindset and a go-get-em' attitude to find ways to improve upon processes and projects.
  • Self-starter with a high energy level, commitment to excellence, and a diligent work ethic.
  • A strong ability to prioritize and organize work with varying timelines for projects and daily work.



Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
