JOB DETAILS:

  • Location: Santa Clara, CA
  • Onsite: These roles require the student to work full time (40 hours a week), onsite throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
  • Duration: May 27, 2025 to August 8, 2025 or June 23, 2025 to September 12, 2025

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As an intern, be part of AMD's design engineering team and with your knowledge and understanding of Data Center/Cloud Networking you will be:

  • Collaborating with our dedicated team members to understand AI/ML workload/collectives and use cases and transfer those understandings into traffic models.
  • Design/Simulate network algorithms and build architecture model for large-scale networks for both front (cloud) and backend (AI/ML) networks.
  • Identifying problems in architecture, functionality and performance with strong related knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Working with engineering teams to build and implement algorithms/architecture into AMD products and help in efficient performance vs complexity trade-off analysis.
  • Receiving mentorship from senior engineers with a wealth of experience.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a highly motivated Design Engineering intern/co-op to join our team.

  • You are currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • You have knowledge/experience with the following technical skills (or related areas) -
    • Strong background in network simulators: ns3 or Omnet++.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in architecture and algorithm design in the networking field
    • Experience with p4 programming.
    • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus.
    • Familiarity with system testing of networking product is preferred.
