Summary of Position

The purpose of this internship is to support JobsOhio's Business Development activities, with a primary emphasis on international business development. In this role you will learn about international economic development by supporting the JobsOhio team in our efforts to attract new companies to the state. This role will encompass aspects of research for client leads and projects, business intelligence, and event support.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the International BD team in organizing or co-organizing events e.g. Paris Airshow in June, annual consultants training trip to Ohio, potential inbound delegations
• Drive a focused trade analysis based on Panjiva Database with the objective of identifying actionable trends for our international consultants in Europe and Asia
• Provide research support and business intelligence for BD team:
• Utilize various data platforms to research lead and project related info (wages, real estate costs, etc.)
• Assist with business intelligence efforts to find market leading companies internationally for outreach
• Update existing materials to latest information with regards to international business development
• Assist with SalesForce data entry:
• Ensure that international companies and multipliers (law firms, accounting firms, construction firms, etc.) are up to date and allocated to the appropriate campaigns
• Become familiar with SalesForce reporting and best practices
• Monitor and support JobsOhio's digital presence:
• In conjunction with our Marketing team, ensure that any JobsOhio events, project announcements, and cultural events that take place are tagged to the appropriate channels
• Support the content development for the international webpages
• Research and create a report on social media best practices for foreign direct investment attraction
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Experience Requirements

• Candidate must be proficient in MS Office and have an interest in International Business Development.
• Good judgment and ability to plan to accomplish goals
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ensure timely attendance and adherence to work schedules, contributing to a productive and well-coordinated team environment

Education Requirements

• Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an interest in international relations.
