JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Systems Engineer is the Administrator of many internal practices to enhance the performance of our systems, applications, and processes. This role will learn, evaluate and document the ITS environment to enhance support services within the organization. Providing Windows desktop administration, system monitoring, patch compliance, troubleshooting problems, and an escalation contact for complex service desk issues are the primary objectives of the Information Systems Engineer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:

  • Endpoint Management:
    1. Deploying, configuring, and managing Ivanti agents on all company devices to enforce security policies, distribute software updates, and monitor system status.
    2. Endpoint Administration of Microsoft Intune.
  • Patch Management:
    1. Identifying and deploying critical security patches to all endpoints through the Ivanti platform to maintain system security.
  • Software Distribution:
    1. Distributing and installing software applications across the network using Ivanti's deployment tools.
  • User Access Control:
    1. Managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels within the Ivanti console to ensure appropriate user access to system resources.
  • Inventory Management:
    1. Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of all company devices and their software configurations using Ivanti's asset management features.
  • Troubleshooting:
    1. Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues reported by users through the Ivanti Neurons ITSM.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    1. Generating reports on system health, software usage, and security compliance using Ivanti reporting tools.
  • Security Policy Enforcement:
    1. Implementing and monitoring security policies within the Ivanti platform to protect against cyber threats.
  • System Upgrades and Migrations:
    1. Planning and executing upgrades to the Ivanti platform and managing system migrations.
  • Proficient in Ivanti platform:
    1. Deep understanding of Ivanti Neurons, including features like patch management, software distribution, device control, and security configurations.
    2. Endpoint Administrator of Microsoft Intune Integration, integrated with Ivanti Neurons for hybrid administration.
  • Operating System Expertise:
    1. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10, 11) and their administration.
    2. Deliver images to clients using various OS imaging standards such as MDT and Autopilot.
    3. Endpoint Administrator of Microsoft Intune Integration.
  • Networking Fundamentals:
    1. Basic understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and infrastructure to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Scripting Skills:
    1. Ability to write scripts (e.g., PowerShell) for automated tasks and system management
  • Problem-solving skills:
    1. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively
  • Communication Skills:
    1. Clear communication to explain technical issues to non-technical users and stakeholders
  • Infrastructure Skills:
    1. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Client/Server architecture.
    2. Intermediate understanding of Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Certificate Authority, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Desktop Services.
    3. Ability to work within VMware vCenter to update Windows Templates and deploy Windows Server 2022.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A teammate in this position must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of Experience in a Windows Enterprise Environment (1000+ Clients)
  • Server + Certification or Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Minimum of 3-5 years, experience providing technical engineering within a Microsoft Windows and Ivanti Neurons environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to complete implementations and resolve issues.
  • Analytical skills - Ability to use critical thinking and reasoning skills to solve problems
  • Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Windows Power Shell scripting and deployment. (Preferred)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate. (Preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years of VMware vSphere and vCenter Experience. (Preferred)

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various software programs.
