The Guan Research Group (www.guanresearchgroup.com) in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications to fill a postdoctoral fellow position for a research project focusing on organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis. This is a one-year appointment that may be renewable, contingent the availability of funds and satisfactory performance. Essential Functions
The successful candidate in this role will conduct independent research focused on developing metal-based molecular catalysts. Preferred Profile - Background in handling moisture/air-sensitive materials and utilizing a range of characterization techniques including NMR, IR, GC-MS, and X-ray crystallography. - Experience in performing chemical reactions in a high-pressure apparatus is desired but not strictly required. - Effective communication skills, including listening, writing, and speaking in English. - Experience with training graduate and undergraduate students in the lab setting. - Commitment to building an inclusive learning environment.
