The ETL Developer is responsible for designing, creating, and implementing data pipelines as well as maintaining data warehouse. Job will also include data management support activities, for monitoring space usage, starting up and shutting down databases, diagnosing errors, administering distributed databases, and developing automated backup procedures. Data modeling, process documentation, and ad hoc reporting, as necessary. Lastly, daily database administrator duties will include monitoring, optimizing, scheduling & general management of our SQL Database environment. Provide testing, quality control, and performance tune services that will ensure integrity and reliability. Confer with business unit and technical staff regarding extracting data for particular reports.

Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...

  • Maintain structure, tables, access to and efficient operation of one or more large or databases in use for systems or applications in current use by clients, business units, or corporate offices.
  • Confer with application staff or project management staff regarding project planning, resource allocation, task definitions and schedules for substantial projects involving database(s).
  • Manage the environment in which a database functions by testing or restoring data, code builds, capacity planning, and assessing systems interfaces.
  • Develop and document database models, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams for use by developers or database users.
  • Confer on troubleshooting problems of database(s) in production. Assess root causes for bug or production problem or provide technical input to developers or less senior DBAs.
  • Use specific software utilities and tools to tune, troubleshoot, or refine database(s) and make their operation more efficient.
  • Become familiar with these tools and instruct others in their use.
  • Use ETL tools like SSIS to perform basic data loading and testing.
  • Develops solutions and resolves a wide range of data and technical issues, as necessary. Work may be performed without direction. Typically participates in determining objectives of and approaches to assignments.

A must...

  • Bachelor's degree or Equivalent Area of Study Computer Science or Engineering
  • 4-6 years of related experience Specialized Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of relevant DB platform software.
  • Experience in MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Microsoft Data Fabric, SQL and Pentaho
