Summer 2025 Internship Snapshot

The Opportunity at Hand

The role of the Trade Compliance Department Intern is an integral member of the Trade team adding value through assisting with:

Projects & Tasks

  • Learn about Trade Compliance as a profession/career path
  • Participate in functional meetings with internal/external customers and brokers
  • Assist with daily tasks
  • Collaborate with different departments per TC issues
  • Support manager and specialist on different functions and projects
  • Contribute to user-friendly, clear, and concise reference materials that support business and compliance requirements
  • Develop reports as needed
  • Research and analyze specific data to include but not limited to HTS code, Customs Regulations internationally and domestically
  • Maintain records for period determined by Trade Compliance Regulations
  • Update HTS code database as needed
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other projects as assigned

What you will need to make an impact

  • Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize new systems as needed
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email and in person
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills required
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances by being flexible and execute accordingly
  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing solutions
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and positive person who manages change with urgency and persistence

Education and Experience

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program within a Business related field and Supply Chain

This role is 100% in-person and requires on-site attendance five days a week at our Headquarters building located in downtown Buffalo. The hourly rate for this posted position is $17/hr. and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
