Summer 2025 Internship Snapshot

  • The Internship program is a full-time (40 hours) paid opportunity running from May 21 - August 13, 2025

The Opportunity at Hand

The role of the Marketing Intern is an integral member of the Licensed Marketing Team, supporting all-team functions through the summer initiatives like NFL Sideline, NBA Draft and MLB All-Star (among many others). While this internship will offer comprehensive involvement across our marketing department, this intern should specialize in copywriting and journalism, adding value through assisting with generating informative content to improve NewEraCap.com's organic optimization and to assist with PR pitching.

Projects & Tasks

Learn about the wide variety of products and collections that New Era Cap offers for Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the Women's National Basketball Association and other properties.

  • Research information regarding upcoming product collections, the design inspiration, and the history behind them
  • Learn about trending topics and cultural moments to keep content relevant
  • Interview key internal figures about collections and other subjects
  • Developing an understanding and adapting to New Era Cap's tone of voice
  • Write informative articles and other long form SEO optimized content for NewEraCap.com
  • Author short and long form social media copywriting for posts, stories etc
  • Collaborate with PR staff to assist in pitching current and upcoming programs and New Era stories
  • Administrative functions (shipping, product inventory, image sourcing, etc.) as assigned
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will need to make an impact

  • Excellent writing skills that span social copy to long-form blog/press release style articles
  • Proven ability to meet writing submission deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email and in person
  • Strong public speaking, group presentation, interpersonal and persuasion skills required
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances by being flexible and execute accordingly
  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing solutions
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and positive person who manages change with urgency and persistence

Education and Experience

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program within Communications, Marketing, or a related field

This role is 100% in-person and requires on-site attendance five days a week at our Headquarters building located in downtown Buffalo. The hourly rate for this posted position is $17/hr. and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
