Field Vice President (FVP), Reimbursement, Specialty

Location: Field-Based

The Field Vice President (FVP), Patient Experience & Reimbursement, Specialty is accountable for the management of the GSK US Specialty Access and Reimbursement Team. This position plays a critical role leading the support of patients as they access their prescribed GSK therapies. Additionally, the position leads HCP reimbursement and access education which establishes the required HCP capabilities and infrastructure to initiate and maintain patients on HCP administered products, influencing senior stakeholders, and enabling long term patient access through strategic execution. The FVP, Patient Experience & Reimbursement, Specialty must demonstrate deep technical understanding of patient coverage, coding, and payment. Experience with the distribution of specialty products and rules and regulations that govern provision of reimbursement support. This position will support the GSK Specialty Business Unit.

Position reports to VP, US Patient Experience & Reimbursement. The position is field-based and has multiple direct reports.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Lead & Inspire Teams: Recruit, hire, manage, coach and inspire highly qualified and effective Field Reimbursement Directors and indirect report(s). Gain insights and ensure aligned prioritization, communication and collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams (e.g., Hub, Sales, Medical Affairs, Payer Field Teams, Marketing, etc.) Identify and address training, performance, and competency needs to support achievement of business objectives
  • Set, Inspect & Coach to Expectations: Set expectations with field reimbursement team, establish robust account plans, monitor activity and performance measures, coach and develop team leaders and field reimbursement managers.
  • Execute & Manage Reimbursement Strategies: Accountable for the development, implementation, execution and management of reimbursement strategies across the US reimbursement function. Educate senior leadership on reimbursement and access dynamics.
  • Team responsibilities include:
  • Implementation of education and support
    • Educate on patient and provider access protocols and facilitate in-person training, SP ordering, and internal pharmacy set-up
    • Educates non-clinical staff on coding, billing, claim submission, and acquisition pathway matters
    • Pulls-through payer access information and helps customers navigate the local access environment
  • Implementation issue resolution
    • Investigates and determines root cause of implementation challenges identified and facilitates issue resolution
    • Ensures timely communications with field counterparts to provide updates, shares learnings, and identify forward-looking opportunities for proactive implementation or clinical education.
  • Expand Organizational Reimbursement Engagements & Capabilities: Establish relationships with key accounts. Identify and plan for key environmental shifts impacting access for HIV treatment and prevention. Remain up to date on current reimbursement trends, best practices, and customer learnings and update strategies to ensure that GSK has a future forward industry-leading approach.
  • Operate in line with Legal and Compliance policies, procedures and guidelines: Conduct management monitoring to identify and address areas of organizational risk (e.g., periodic records reviews, audits, etc. Confirm all activities are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures governing commercial and field reimbursement.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of US-based pharmaceutical industry experience in Field Access & Reimbursement, managed markets, specialty pharmacy operations, or commercial
  • 3+ years of first line leadership experience
  • 18 months cross-functional leadership experience (Operations, Training, Marketing, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 50%; including key engagements at GSK US offices in Durham, NC or Philadelphia, PA
  • Valid US Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in Field Access & Reimbursement or provider support for specialty injectable/infusible medicines
  • Expertise in specialty drug reimbursement, payer policies, coding, and billing
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement support risks
  • Experience training and developing teams in payer policy processes and requirements
  • Ability to communicate complex coding and billing requirements across various care settings
  • Deep understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance reimbursement
  • Knowledge of drug acquisition, distribution (Buy and Bill, Specialty Pharmacies, Distributors)
  • Experience working with third-party reimbursement support vendors
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to influence across teams and organizations, even without direct authority
  • Problem-solving skills, learning agility, and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Strategic thinker with experience translating insights into actionable plans
