This position collaborates with the instructional design team, faculty, and directors in the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine to create, maintain, and support online curriculum, programs, and educational offerings on a custom content management and learning management system. The scope of this position includes analyzing learning needs and partnering with subject matter experts to plan and design courses; develop programs, curricula, and materials to meet learning and performance objectives. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Plan, design, and develop curricula, materials, and programs to meet learning and performance objectives for specific online training needs in collaboration with subject matter experts, UA faculty and faculty at other institutions, AWCIM leadership, and other instructional design team members. May supervise 1-2 individuals.
Manages multiple projects to ensure requested deadlines are met; this includes updates and improvements to existing online courses, exams, assessments, and related activities or materials. - Collaborate on concept, design, and production of broad Center educational initiatives, including visually appealing, engaging, and informative: learning interactions, handouts, videos, animations, and infographics. This requires significant innovation and creativity in delivering online education.
- Analyze learning needs, student feedback, and partner with subject matter experts, faculty, and AWCIM leadership for course content creation or improvement.
- Provide customer service support for online students, including investigating and troubleshooting reported issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals, including faculty, SME, students, and various stakeholders
- Ability to read, write, and edit basic HTML
- Basic image editing skills
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite
- Ability to create visually appealing graphics and handouts
- Knowledge of learning management systems and web content management systems
- Extensive knowledge and use of principles, theories and concepts of instructional design and adult learning
- Knowledge of broad industry best practices, techniques, and standards
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and their application in online learning
- Project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in online/e-learning curriculum development
- Experience in designing and developing learning experiences for adult learners.
