Senior Licensed Architect - Public Works
Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for Senior Licensed Architect at our Houston Downtown office in our Public Works practice. Duties:
- Leads technical design for the office and works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to produce design documents for a wide variety of building types.
- Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects with a high degree of technical complexity.
- Supervise project team's work cooperatively with the project manager and project designer.
- Ensure project development, documentation and its completion meets schedule, budget, code requirements, and technical quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Review work and propose changes to design, and to comply with building codes and budget.
- Prepare plan of action to resolve project issues.
- Prepare bids or assist with contractor selection process.
- Assist market sector teams in preparing proposals, and participating in new project presentations as requested.
- Collaborates with project teams to solve tough problems and provide creative design solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture required.
- Licensed Architect in Texas (required).
- Minimum 10 years of architectural experience, including leadership in technical design and team coordination.
- Strong portfolio of work in Institutional, Commercial, or Public Works projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage consultant coordination.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
Assistant Project Manager/Project Architect (APM) Role Annual Performance Goals & Expectations:
- Having a deep understanding of how your work and contributions as a co-owner add to Huitt-Zollars' mission and core values.
- Assists PM in achieving target Effective Labor Multiplier (ELM) of all associated tasks.
- Assists PM to uphold business processes including timely monthly A/R's, invoicing, timekeeping, resource forecasting, percent completes, etc. Achieves stated target personal utilization goal for APM.
This position is also required to adhere to Huitt-Zollars' Core Value Competencies.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion
