Job Description:

The School District of Milton is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to work in the Business Services Department (District Office). The Accounts Payable Specialist reports directly to the Director of Business Services. Selected responsibilities include: generate purchase orders from school/department requests in a timely manner, eCommerce ordering, fixed asset recording and reconciliation, issue AP checks and register for board of education, historical purchase inquiry for staff, vendor inquiries, and transaction transfers/journal entries. The Accounts Payable Specialist shall maintain all financial records in accordance with local, state and federal requirements and assist with the annual audit process.

The position is expected to begin on or before July 1, 2025. The position is year-round, 8 hours per day, 253 days per year. The anticipated hourly pay is based upon education and related work experience. The position also includes a highly competitive benefits package.

Qualifications:

Preference is for a minimum of a two-year degree in accounting and demonstrated work experience in a similar position. The candidate must be self-motivated, positive, detail-oriented, adhere to deadlines, and have the ability to work independently. Excellent organizational and communication skills, along with knowledge of computer application programs is required. Familiarity with Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) is desired.
