Job Description

We are currently hiring a Production Sensory Coordinator in Breinigsville, PA.

The Sensory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining product and material inventory for the Production Sensory department at the Pennsylvania Brewery. The Coordinator ensures product samples are tracked, catalogued, and shipped across Boston Beer facilities as well as supporting co-manufacturing facilities in a timely manner.

What You'll Brew:

Inventory Management



  • Manage product inventory - intake, catalogue, and maintain inventory of samples delivered to the Production Sensory team from production facilities
  • Maintain inventory of trial samples and reference samples for the production sensory teams


Shipping and Logistics Coordination



  • Coordinate shipments, including but not limited to product samples for inter-brewery, training, first production run for shelf-life tests, and controls that support all forms of sensory testing
  • Communicate and document shipping information to all coworkers and partners receiving samples


Lab Management



  • Maintains, clean, and keeps up to date records of Sensory equipment
  • Maintain records and inventory level of lab supplies. - examples: cups, glassware, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • Sustain proper inventory levels for all Sensory Lab and relevant shipping supplies
  • Manage electronic and physical records for the Sensory lab
  • Develop and maintain inventory and related SOPs


Sensory Team Member



  • Assist as needed with internal testing at all Boston Beer facilities as coordinated by the Sensory team
  • Coordinates with Sensory Team high priority samples to ensure we are meeting our internal timeline for results
  • Participate as a panelist on local sensory panels


Other Responsibilities



  • Communicate concise informative reports on total inventory
  • Proactively identify opportunities to create efficiencies
  • Continued development of systems and process improvement
  • Promote high level of achievement within a professional work environment
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and Food Safety protocols
  • Observe and practice all Department/Brewery Procedures - including wearing proper PPE, safety, and sanitation equipment as required
  • There is frequent exposure production environments:

    • Subject to loud and constant noise
    • Non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold

  • Operating environment is complex and densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness

Required Qualifications and Skills:



  • High School or GED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proven success multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
  • High degree of ownership and professional commitment


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelors Degree
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods, planning, and technologies
  • Experience with digital database/filing systems and workflow management software
  • Experience working in production, warehouse, and laboratory environments


Level: 9

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $16.83 - 35.87 per hour. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
