Short Intro and About the Job

At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Packaging Operator based in West Jordan, UT!

The Packaging Operator supports the Packaging Department in the manufacturing plant by operating a highly technical production equipment. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, and follow prescribed safety and quality regulations.
  • Maintaining documentation of cleaning and sanitizing records and procedures.
  • Performing solids and pH testing.
  • Maintaining flavor documentation on batch sheets, provided by R&D.
  • Following written and approved work instructions, provided by Quality Technicians.
  • With Quality approval, ensuring print on gable top and boxes are accurate.
  • Monitoring proper product in proper packaging.
  • Monitoring the supply of packaging material for producing amount on order.
  • Coordinating to maintain print quality.
  • Performing cleaning and sanitizing functions for all circuits, pipes, tanks, valves, and related equipment.

The base compensation for this position is $26.06/hr. plus an overnight shift differential of $1.25/hr. Upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, your rate of pay will increase to $28.96/hr. plus an overnight shift differential of $1.25/hr. This position will work 12-hour shifts on NIGHT SHIFT, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM on a 4-4-3 rotating schedule.

About You

Previous Production or Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

You must have the ability to:

  • Accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to daily duties.
  • Train and operate powered industrial equipment and navigate in tight spaces and high traffic areas.
  • Use a computer, have basic math skills and good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail, and good mechanical aptitude.
  • Perform physical demands in a fast-paced environment, working up to 12-hour shifts.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
