Job Overview

Our Connector's Business Unit in Leeds, AL is seeking a Technical Quality Coordinator III. Under general supervision of the Quality Manager, the Technical Quality Coordinator III will provide technical analysis and service for utility products (Transmission, Distribution, Substation and Communications) offering to both internal and external customers.

A Day In The Life

  • Maintain product performance inquiry database in SAP, Leeds SharePoint and Hubbell Online database. Provide with a PPI tracking number to the Sales and/or Marketing team upon request.
  • Analyze customers' technical requirements and problems or applications and suggests technical recommendations.
  • Provide available technical information for the sales and marketing departments and field sales personnel
  • Perform testing with the utilization of tensile machine, hardness tester, X Ray equipment, optical comparator, microscope and any other measuring tools to determine cause and failure for returned product.
  • Coordinate with other connectors BU facilities and or with supplier, sourcing and buyers root cause analysis and corrective actions for product returned for analysis.
  • Write Product Performance Inquire (PPI)report with the analysis, conclusions and technical recommendation. Obtain Approval from the Product Engineering and Marketing team. Distribute Final reports with territorial managers, sales and marketing team
  • Oversee secondary/machining operations from quality operations support to initiate root cause analysis for internal and external quality issues. Support Quality decisionfor acceptance and rejection criteria for pretending to this area.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in utility products (mechanical products: dead ends, connectors, clamps, splices, castings, welding, etc.) and process Sales/Marketing/Engineer role would be a huge plus
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP, Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • General knowledge and use of machining operations, band saw, grinders, cutting equipment, presses, etc.
