Job Description Summary:

The Rate Table Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Draper's Rate Table Facility. The Supervisor should have a strong understanding of rate table test planning, preparation, execution and surveillance for a variety of rate tables that include single axis through 3-axis systems.

The Supervisor is responsible for building a team of technicians and performing oversight and professional development to them. The Supervisor is required to have a mindset of continuous process improvement and supporting staff training to meet the requirements of the Rate Table Facility to ensure Safety and Quality mindset for the facility

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Leads and directs the work of staff an assigned functional area, including scheduling daily work assignments.

  • Supervises the operation of equipment in the functional area.

  • Interface with engineering on potential design and or test issues, including materials and processes, providing constructive feedback and alternative approaches for consideration.

  • Manages the review and analysis of documentation, materials, and calculations to ensure compliance with functional area safety and quality standards.

  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of employees, ensures all required trainings are completed in a timely manner, and participates in the hiring process as needed.

  • Responsible for coordinating of maintenance and repair of functional equipment."

  • Supervises personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma.

Experience

  • Requires 5+ years' experience in a functional area environment. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Additional Job Description:

  • Supervising less than four union technicians that support the Rate Table Facility operations including scheduling daily work assignments and performing annual evaluations.
  • Maintain Rate Table Confluence Page to include but not limited to: Inventory of existing rate tables, locations, configurations and capabilities; user manuals; Slip ring drawings; Table top drawings; Maintenance schedules (calibration, LN2 re-fill, compressed air, etc.)
  • Responsible for coordinating rate table use across programs to maximize efficiency of the Rate Table Facility for Draper while meeting customer milestones. This will be accomplished by leveraging a centralized reservation system and assigning programs to the correct tables while planning for maintenance of the tables to ensure traceability and collect metrics on usage.
  • Responsible for the overall Rate Table Facility Surveillance to include but not limited to rate table usage data collection and failure rate analysis
  • Responsible for Sparing Plan / Obsolescence Tracking that includes Identification of Critical Parts (e.g., high failure rates); Sparing Quantities (minimum # parts on-hand) - CAPEX; Storage & Inventory Tracking
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling Preventative Maintenance that is performed by Draper and External Vendors.
  • Support the acquisition/upgrades/repair for all the tables that are included in the Rate Table Facility. These tasks include requirements development, facility planning, quotes, working with administration team for procurement (reqs, POs, etc.), installation & acceptance /re-certification
  • Lead and manage troubleshooting efforts and issues with the rate tables and generate POA. Issues to be documented and tracked formally in a problem/issue tracking system.
  • Maintain 5-year facilities plan, including research and approved purchase/installation of all capital equipment.
  • Work closely with many external vendors for all material purchases and for coordination of overflow work.
