Competitive pay starting at $17.50 and after 90 days $18.00 an hour. If you are new to our team as a part time worker you will get a $250 signing bonus paid in two equal installments after you finish orientation and after 90 days. Community Passages is a community-based residential program designed to provide a homelike environment for individuals with developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses, many of whom present significantly challenging behaviors and most of whom previously resided at state centers and hospitals. Residents develop life skills, increase their self-esteem, and are empowered to make choices for themselves. Person-centered planning, self-determination, and personalization foster individualized programs in an open and safe environment encourage consumer empowerment and personal growth. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for safety and supervision of our consumers with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral health histories to facilitate healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based sites. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residentially based interventions and assist the clients in achieving their clinical assignments. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client's program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in the activities of daily living, in both the home and the community. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed. Per diem DSPs are eligible to work at different shifts and different locations throughout the Penn Hills area. Shifts are typically 7 am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 11 pm and 11 pm to 7 am. You only need to work one 8 hour shift a month in order to stay eligible as a per diem employee.
