Job Description
ECU Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness is currently seeking several Graphic Designers.

Are you passionate about design, photography, or videography? The ECU Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness ( CRW) is seeking creative and talented individuals to join our team this spring! These roles offer the chance to build your portfolio while contributing to the vibrant campus community at East Carolina University.

CRW provides exceptional programs and services for the ECU community, including Intramural Sports, Physical Activity & Fitness, Club Sports, Adventure Programs, Adapted Recreation, Aquatics/Safety Services, Youth and Family Programs, Well-Being Initiatives, and Special Events.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include:

  • A 150,000-square-foot Student Recreation Center
  • An 18-acre multi-sport field complex
  • A 129-acre sports complex with a six-acre lake, disc golf course, boathouse, walking/jogging trails, outdoor fitness equipment, sandy beach area, and more
  • An Odyssey Challenge Course and other outdoor recreational space


Responsibilities and Duties
As part of the CRW marketing team, you will:

  1. Design, layout, and produce marketing materials including publications, posters, electronic media, signs, advertisements, t-shirts, and branded items (pens, koozies, pop sockets, etc.).
  2. Uphold ECU's brand standards, ensuring the use of approved logos, colors, and trademarks.
  3. Capture high-quality photographs and videos of CRW programs, facilities, and services.
  4. Communicate effectively with clients to meet their project needs and expectations.
  5. Develop your skills and knowledge through supervisor feedback, self-reflection, and engagement with new media techniques.
  6. Stay up-to-date with trends in design, photography, and videography.
  7. Represent CRW and ECU with professionalism, providing excellent customer service and leadership.
  8. Be flexible and responsive to varying project needs and deadlines, maintaining strong communication skills.
  9. Familiarize yourself with the CRW employee manual to handle situations effectively and align with departmental policies and operations.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, iMovie)
  • Experience in digital photography, videography, and editing
  • A strong artistic and creative mindset
  • The ability to work approximately 10-15 hours per week
  • For Graphic Designers: Acceptance into or eligibility to apply to ECU's Graphic Design program
