Overview

Product Manager (Accriva Diagnostics, Inc. d/b/a Werfen North America, San Diego, CA): On behalf of a worldwide developer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialized diagnostic instruments for Hemostasis and Acute Care diagnostics products and services, responsible for defining and implementing market requirements for new products. Under direction of a Marketing Director, perform product management of a dedicated product line. Coordinate implementation with technical services and field sales organization and provide marketing assistance and training to field personnel and customers.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as a key marketing interface with R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance / Regulatory Affairs (QA/RA), and Sales for components of the Hemostasis diagnostic product line.
  • Identify customer needs, market trends, competitor threads, and business opportunities related to dedicated product lines.
  • Define system, product, and assay requirements for next generation systems.
  • Develop marketing and strategic plans including market assessment, product concept definition, voice of the customer, competitive landscape, and present to all levels of management.
  • Prepare and coordinate marketing support programs. Plan and develop advertising and promotional materials. Write technical bulletins and newsletters.
  • Seek information to help the company determine its position in the marketplace. Keep informed regarding developments in the medical instrumentation diagnostic industry as they apply to the Company's future marketing plans.
  • Provide sales technical training for sales staff. Work with field sales staff to develop training requirements and sales tools required to introduce new products and sales campaigns for all or part of the product line. Make presentations to customers.
  • Understand all maintenance, performance, and advantages of Accriva Diagnostics and Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) products.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in technical aspects of Accriva Diagnostics, IL, and competitor products.
  • Monitor field testing and marketing introduction programs.
  • Maintain regular communications with technical services, Operations, Production, as well as commercial teams on problems with instruments and reagents within the product line.
  • Interface with all levels of management including executives.

Note: This is a product manager position reporting to a Director of Marketing. The position functions as a Marketing Specialist and does not have direct reports.

This is a hybrid position working 3 days/week from the office in San Diego, CA and 2 days/week from a home office within normal commuting distance to the San Diego, CA office. Position requires approximately 25% domestic and international travel.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Pharmacy, a Clinical Laboratory Science field, Life Sciences field, or in a Business Administration/Marketing field and 1 year of experience in sales and/or marketing of Hemostasis diagnostics products within the in vitro diagnostic medical device sector.

Must also have: (I) Knowledge and deep understanding of Point of Care (hospital) diagnostics; (II) Proficiency in clinical utility of in vitro diagnostic reagent products and instrument systems; (III) Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into product specifications; (IV) Background defining requirements for new product development and support design and development processes specific to medical devices; (V) Successful track record: (a) helping to promote novel reagents and systems in a crowded market; and (b) excelling within a fast paced and fluctuating environment; and (VI) professional marketing focused verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.

Salary Range: $115,000 to $155,000. Individual compensation is based on the candidate's qualifications for the position, including experience, skills, knowledge, education, certifications, internal equity, budget, and/or other business and organizational needs.
