Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Researcher at UL Research Institutes, based in our Columbia, Maryland office. The post-doctoral researcher performs independent research in preparation for a career as a scientific professional, contributing to and advancing research on combustion chemistry and soot production, transport, and oxidation and of the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). The post-doctoral researcher will assist in initiating the design, development, execution, and implementation of a research project focused on the development of bench-scale experimental capabilities for characterizing soot dynamics. Conducts experiments, modeling, and analysis to provide accurate data and information with the goal of developing that information into peer-reviewed journal articles, reports, and presentations to the scientific community and other stakeholders. This two-year post-doctoral researcher position is focused on advancing research on the characterization of soot escape from diffusion flames and the development of strategies to represent the global soot production dynamics in computational fire models.
