Overview

General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking a Cloud Administrator to join the Information Technology department. The IT team is experiencing an exciting transformation as we move into the cloud. The Cloud Administrator is responsible for implementing, configuring and supporting technology solutions throughout the organization with a focus on Azure, Microsoft 365 and OCI solutions.

Responsibilities:

    Configure, monitor, and maintain the company's cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and scalability
  • Ensure infrastructure security and compliance by monitoring access, usage, and resources
  • Provide Tier 2/3 (diagnosis, analysis and troubleshooting and resolution for more complex/advanced network, client and end-user connectivity issues escalated by Tier 1 or 2 technical support staff)
  • Support PMO cloud-based projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new cloud solutions
  • Participation in cloud governance committee to review and implement best practices, policies and new application deployments
  • Keeps up with cloud trends and emerging technologies, contributing innovative ideas
  • Document processes and configurations for knowledge sharing


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical degree.
  • 1 - 4 years of experience with Microsoft 365, Oracle Cloud or similar

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure Administrator Associate, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Oracle Cloud ERP
  • Experience in cloud systems administration with a strong focus on Microsoft 365, Azure or OCI
  • Experience with implementing and managing M365 product suite
  • Proficient in managing Entra ID, Office 365, OneDrive, Exchange and Teams
  • Experience in government or private cloud environments


Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize ticket-based workload along with incoming side requests
  • Creating professional documentation and diagrams for external consumption
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to rapidly evolving requirements
  • Strong customer facing capabilities
  • Familiarity with automation tools, such as PowerShell
  • Knowledge of JIRA Software and Confluence
