CenterPoint Energy and its predecessor companies have been in business for more than 150 years. Our Vision: Our vision is to become the most admired utility in the United States through the execution of our long-term growth strategy. We have an unwavering commitment to safely and reliably deliver electricity and natural gas to millions of people. Our Commitment: CenterPoint Energy is committed to creating an inclusive work environment where business results are achieved through the skills, abilities and talents of our diverse workforce. At CenterPoint Energy, individuals are respected for their contributions toward our company objectives. We strive for an inclusive work environment across all levels that is reflective of the available workforce in the communities we serve. Job Summary CenterPointEnergy is on a clear path toward becoming an industry-leading, premium utility company. CenterPoint Energy's utility operations are rate-regulated by various state regulatory agencies. These agencies regulate several aspects of utility operations, such as ensuring that services provided are safe and reliable and that rates charged are cost-based. The Company must make a formal request of the regulator to increase rates being charged. This request will be reviewed, audited, and culminate in a legal proceeding where oral arguments are made and ruled upon to establish future rates. As a Analyst on the Regulatory Reporting team, you'll work as part of a team responsible for the development and preparation of accounting schedules and workpapers for rate filings with regulatory agencies that form the basis for our cost-based rates charged to utility customers. Additionally, you'll be responsible for communicating and reporting to regulatory agencies annual accounting, informational, and statistical reports and other reports, as needed. In order to be successful and ensure regulatory requirements are met timely and accurately, you must partner with several departments within the organization such as finance, accounting, legal, treasury, operations, engineering, and other regulatory functions, among others. The Regulatory Reporting team is also embarking on an exciting new phase as part of a software implementation to which you'll play a key role. The team has begun the rollout of the Utilities International Planner ("UI Planner") software solution, and it is currently in use for several major filings. This software allows for reduced lead-times in preparation, thereby allowing for a greater emphasis on analysis and more efficient execution of our regulatory strategy. As we continue to expand and further leverage this new tool, you will be in prime position to be 'in on the ground floor,' setting the stage and laying the foundation for years of future success. Lastly, as part of a fast-paced, high-energy work environment, you'll also be a leader for ensuring efficient work processes are in place while striving for other best practices such as cross-training, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement. CenterPoint Energy is entering a reinvigorating new era of building a continuous improvement culture that you will play an integral role in establishing. The long-term goal is for continuous improvement to be engrained in the CenterPoint Energy culture and become "The Way We Work." Essential Functions
