Application Window Open date: April 2, 2025 Next review date: Friday, Apr 18, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jun 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) seeks applications for an Instructional Designer with an anticipated start of Spring 2025. The Instructional Designer will assist with instructional design for online and hybrid courses campus-wide, and collaborates on programs for faculty professional development in digital pedagogy and academic technologies. The Instructional Designer will work with instructors to help them create expertly designed courses and highly engaging, accessible course content delivered in a clear and effective manner. This role will vary based on campus needs, but involves supporting the design of hybrid and online courses, conducting regular checks on course quality and accessibility compliance, helping faculty with assessments and course alignment, and improving meaningful teacher-student interaction through course design and instructor practice. The Instructional Designer will also help to curate online materials and resources for campus-wide training on effective teaching in higher education. Other responsibilities involve developing workshops, hosting individual and group consultations, and designing online and print documentation, tutorials, and video resources in support of instruction. This position can be performed on-campus and/or as remote work.
