Diversified Operations Intern

JOB SUMMARY:

The vision of the Operations Internship Training Program is to provide education and training consistent with the professional development of prospective college graduates. Interns function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and interact with Team Members, customers, and carriers in the logistics industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The goal of the Internship Training Program is to provide interns with education and training experience to prepare them for future career opportunities within the logistics industry.

The training schedule below has been outlined based on a 8-12 week Internship Training Program:

* Week 1: Orientation and Corporate training

* Week 2-6: Logistics Coordinator training - Drayage Focus

* Week 7-12: Logistics Coordinator training - Drayage Invoicing/Billing Focus

Individual supervision is essential to the training and development of the intern. Bi-weekly meetings will be conducted between the intern and the Team Leader to ensure a successful internship for both the student and the employer. If this is a required University internship, the Team Leader will be responsible for grading the internship and submitting to the appropriate college professor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A minimum of 10 hours per week up to 40 hours per week is acceptable of the internship, not to exceed 6 months.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a physical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands, arms and fingers to handle and lift objects up to 10 pounds.
