Summary Supervises the operations of Subrogation and Workers' Compensation department to recover money for the corporation. Description

Logistics:

This is a full-time (40 HOPW) position. The ideal candidate will be required to work on-site at our Columbia, SC location.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform quality control reviews of staff to ensure appropriate understanding and utilization of applicable laws, contracts, policies, and procedures.

  • Monitor production and timeliness of work.

  • Responsible for handling personnel issues, including hiring, training and motivating.

  • Enforce performance standards through training and disciplinary measures as needed.

  • Maintain effective public relations with groups, marketing, consultants, providers, members, attorneys, liability carriers, and internal departments by providing accurate and prompt responses to inquiries.

  • Assist with and occasionally perform group and marketing presentations.

  • Assist and advise staff on complex matters concerning policies, procedures, system issues, and legal issues.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly group, divisional and corporate reports.

  • Monitor system issues. Identify, recommend and implement enhancements as necessary.

  • Participate in steering, joint administration discussions (JAD) and other IS meetings, and conduct system testing as necessary.

To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalency or 4 years of job-related work experience or associate's degree and 2 years job related work experience.

  • Required Work Experience: 3 years of legal, claims, customer service, or negotiation experience.

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Analyzes laws, regulations and contract language.

  • Evaluates issues and develops recommendations.

  • Handles confidential and sensitive information.

  • Investigates assigned claims.

  • Proposes claims adjustments and refunds.

  • Works claims caseloads.
