he Warehouse Worker is responsible for assembling customer orders for shipment, detailing all shipments with accurate and required documentation, and supporting transactional relief of inventory. The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible, along with others within this functional area, for maintaining open lines of communication between Sales, Quality Control Department, the customer, transportation carriers and the warehouse and operations workforce. Responsible for daily inventory integrity and accuracy via troubleshooting inventory and transaction discrepancies along with monitoring of customer "on time" delivery.

Essential Duties:

  • Process shipments to customer sales order specifications.

  • Process all stock orders by preparing all cut paperwork and updating all orders on the system to reflect the cuts that are being prepared.

  • Confirm that each shipment follows the customer's packaging specifications. Review all documentation for accuracy and completeness, i.e., manifests, shipping documents which include packing list, air bills, bills of lading, quality reports, etc.

  • Confirm the contents of each shipment, i.e., . . . total footage, length requirements, labeling, reel sizes, wrapping, etc. exactly match the customer's order. Communicate all discrepancies timely to appropriate personnel.

  • Assign pickups to carriers and organize the daily pickup schedule.

  • Assist in cycle counting and related duties relative to inventory control and accuracy.

  • Audit warehouse personnel for adherence with the Quality Checklist and policies, perform quality checks as necessary and report issues of concern directly to Supervisor / Manager.

  • Process of Quality Control documentation requests and ensure that the QC Department furnishes all the requested documents.

  • Process all sample requests.

  • Daily and timely communication will be necessary with Inside Sales, Quality, Shipping, IT and Accounting to resolve system-related problems and discrepancies.

  • Maintain a close working relationship with accounting, making sure that all shipping documents are forwarded to invoicing daily and that all computer files pertaining to invoicing are updated.

  • Process all stock transfers between East Granby and any remote warehouses.

These are the general duties required to fulfill the Warehouse Coordinator job description, not a detailed description of all the work required. New duties and responsibilities may be required to meet the changing demands of the business.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Advanced education beyond high school preferred. Must have aptitude for working with numbers and on computer systems/reports.

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to work with minimal supervision are important.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as outside contacts, is necessary.

  • Must be adaptable and handle changing daily pressures with minimal disruption to work schedule or meeting deadlines.

  • Preferred, knowledge of products, work experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse or manufacturing.

  • Able to function as part of a team.

  • Microsoft Office / Excel

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.

  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.

  • Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.

  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
