THE OPPORTUNITY

The Associate Sales Engineer plays a role in supporting the sales process by working closely with the Sales team and prospective clients to promote Riskonnect's risk management solutions.

Riskonnect offers this position as an opportunity for the candidate to develop technical knowledge, customer-facing experience, and strategic insights to understand client needs, assist in crafting tailored solutions, and showcase the value of Riskonnect's platform. The Associate Sales Engineer will help bridge the gap between technical and business perspectives, helping clients see how Riskonnect can transform their operations.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, with a strong interest in technology and problem-solving, along with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. We are looking for someone with a passion for delivering solutions that make a real business impact.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Discovery & Requirements Gathering: Assist in conducting discovery calls with prospective clients alongside the Sales team to gather information on business needs and help document both technical and functional requirements.
  • Demo Preparation & Delivery: Help prepare and deliver engaging platform demonstrations, tailored to address client-specific use cases and needs.
  • Presentation Skills: Support the creation and delivery of presentations that highlight Riskonnect's capabilities and effectively address client challenges.
  • Solution Design & Proof-of-Concepts: Collaborate with the Engineering team to assist in designing and building proof-of-concept solutions that showcase the value of Riskonnect's platform.
  • Technical Communication: Communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders, from developers to senior executives, ensuring understanding across different levels of technical expertise.
  • Solution Design & Resource Planning: Assist in determining the resources needed for implementing solutions and help create content for statements of work that support project planning and scope management.
  • Sales Opportunity Qualification: Work closely with the Sales team to qualify sales opportunities, assisting with developing statements of work and helping close deals.
  • Documentation: Contribute to creating high-quality documentation for client requirements, design specifications, and implementation details.
  • Market & Competitive Research: Keep informed about industry trends and competitive products to help position Riskonnect effectively in the market.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Ideally some experience in a technical sales, pre-sales, or solution consulting role, preferably within enterprise software or SaaS solutions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Some basic understanding of enterprise software, risk management solutions, or SaaS platforms. Familiarity with system architecture, business processes, or technical concepts is a plus, but not required.
  • Sales & Client Interaction: Some experience in client-facing roles, such as participating in discovery calls or supporting needs analysis and presentations.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating across departments to help deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze customer needs and support the development of technical solutions that align with business goals.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a variety of audiences, from developers to senior executives.
  • CRM & Sales Tools: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and other sales tools is a plus.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to assist in product demonstrations, and comfortable presenting in a variety of settings, including sales meetings and events.
