A day in the life of an Operations Specialist at T Plant includes, but is not limited to:

As part of the Waste Projects & Operations organization, this position will help to safely and compliantly store, treat, and dispose of a wide variety of solid wastes and nuclear materials. Provide integrated waste treatment, transportation, storage and disposal services for all CPCCo cleanup projects. Assist with the management of stored fuels and capsules, including 1,936 highly radioactive cesium and strontium capsules in underwater storage. Support interim storage of K Basins Sludge and the treatment and disposal of mixed and low-level radioactive wastes.

The Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting facility work activities for specific assigned tasks, reporting directly to the T Plant Facility Manager. The Operations Specialist provides field support to project operations, waste management, and maintains close communications with the T Plant Duty Operating Supervisor on status of work activities. The Operations Specialist is also responsible to assure compliance to various safety requirements.

Specific responsibilities include:
*Input and retrieve information from the various electronic record management systems (i.e., JCS, SWITS).
*Attend and support Critiques, Management Reviews, and support Casual Analysis
*Support workplace assessments.
*Work to Configuration Management and Conduct of Operation requirements as they apply to maintenance, work control and work authorization.
*Technical knowledge of routine facility hazards and work control practices.
*Actively support programs designed to protect employees against workplace hazards, ensuring safe working conditions and practices.
*Ensure T Plant operations and activities are conducted in compliance with State and Federal waste regulations, DOE Orders, Safety Basis Requirements, and company policy and procedures.
*Support treatment, packaging, and disposal activities for mixed and low-level radioactive waste.
*Participate in shift briefings, pre-job safety meetings, and post-jobs for assigned work activities.
*Interface with radiological control, maintenance, environmental, and other support organizations.
*May serve as Communicator, BED Assistant, or Staging Area Manager (as directed and qualified) for emergency response.
*Monitor safety and environmental conditions during work evolutions to ensure that appropriate hazard controls are used.
*Review procedure changes and new procedures. Ensure accuracy of procedures by validation and initiate changes to correct procedure issues.
*Understand the principals of Conduct of Operations. Implementing and mentoring Conduct of Operations in the field, as required, to support continuous improvement.
*Understand, and work to, T Plant Safety Basis: TSRs, LCOs, ACs, SACs as applied to work activities.
*Ability to multi-task and successfully communicate with a wide range of customers to include maintenance staff, contractors, and management.


Basic Qualifications


Career Level Grade 17: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 6 or more years of relevant experience.

Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 or more years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.


Desired Qualifications


*Working knowledge of Waste Management processes.
*Experience using Microsoft products proficiently.
*Prior experience in a nuclear facility.
*Intermediate knowledge of general business organization and administration, project management, operations, safety and health policies and procedures.
*General knowledge of event reporting and classification processes.
*Excellent written and oral communication skills.


Compensation & Benefits


In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

Career Level Grade 17: $96,938- $122,113
Senior Level Grade 18: $106,663 - $134,588

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
