Company Description

The Tooling Center Machining Center Specialist provides in-house capability of manufacturing foundry tooling; such as patterns, core boxes, associated components, and molds for injection molding machines using state of the art 5-axis machining.

Job Description
  • Sustainability: Complete 30 projects per year.
  • Customer Experience: +/- .010" form accuracy 100% of the time on all projects produced for customers.
  • Leadership: Complete one continuous education activity per year.

CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • CNC Machine Operation (60%): Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings. Set up and adjust CNC machines. Operate CNC machine tools to produce top quality products. Monitor machining processes to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. Conduct in process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety protocols.
  • Programming (30%): Use conversational programming to produce work holding fixtures. Select proper tooling and calculate proper speeds and feeds to ensure maximum productivity and quality products.
  • Continuous Education (10%): Consistently seek education on CAD/CAM processes, tooling, and work holding technology. Stay abreast of technological advancements and actively seek opportunities for improvement within the organization and professionally by researching new technologies, processes, and tooling.
Qualifications

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Preferred:Verifiable CAD/CAM software experience. Mastercam Mill 3D Certification, Solidworks CSWA certification or better, multi-axis machine experience, Metallurgical knowledge, Foundry Tooling knowledge

Required:Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings. Verifiable CNC machining experience. Strong problem-solving skills. Knowledge of various materials. Strong mathematical aptitude (Trigonometry and Geometry).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Preferred:Technical/Vocational Training in CNC Machining, Precision Machining Technology, Manufacturing Technology with proven 5-axis Machining Experience.

Required:High School Diploma or GED, 5 years of manufacturing experience.
