Vehicles Supervisor

Annual Salary: $95,000 - $115,000

The Vehicles Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervisIng the work activities of Vehicle Technicians. The supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing techniques to ensure maintenance is conducted safely, reliably, efficiently and in conformance with existing rules and procedures as outlined in vehicle maintenance procedures. This role evaluates, coaches and develops Vehicle Technicians to ensure that they are competent and maintain required skills to effectively perform their job task efficiently and safely. The Vehicles Supervisor enforces Company policies.This position require flexibility and willingness to work in a 24/7 shift environment, safety sensitive position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative



  • Required to ensure all revenue generating documentation is accurate and complete and signed off.
  • Audit employees' work activities and verify work has been completed according to work procedures that includes safety, quantity and quality standards as stated in Company documents that control and govern vehicles maintenance standards.
  • Responsible for recording accurate and complete information in Company systems, books and records and ensure records comply with all legal reporting requirements.
  • Enforce Company policy as it pertains to accurate and complete records.
  • Document, track and evaluate employee performance and attendance.
  • Reports fully and completely to management about all activities that affect safety and revenue service.



Operations



  • Develop and implement shift work schedules to support vehicles maintenance plans that reflect effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Work plans and schedules to support corrective maintenance and repairs.
  • Verifies completed work meets acceptable quality control standards.
  • Reviews preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and presents recommendations to improve, safety and work performance.
  • Supervise employees work activities to minimize events that cause service disruptions, safety infractions, and ensure that work is executed in accordance with rules and procedures and meets commercial agreements.
  • Report fully and completely to management about all activities that affect safety and revenue service.



Maintenance



  • Conduct shift briefings to assign work tasks to employees and coordinate work activities so that service commitments and service quality factors are met, ensure employees are qualified/certified to perform assigned job tasks.
  • Audit job tasks to evaluate and improve employees' technical and safety proficiencies, to increase efficiencies and to ensure work is in compliance with standards, procedures and regulations.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for changes or events that affect planned work schedules.
  • Open and close out work orders in MAXIMO in accordance with established standards.
  • Oversee maintenance work of employees including the completion of paperwork and input into MAXIMO.
  • Report fully and completely to management about all facility maintenance activities that affect safety and revenue service.



Training & Development



  • Train, qualify and certify employees to perform job tasks proficiently, efficiently and safely.
  • Evaluate employees' performance and provide them with feedback to improve their skill levels.
  • Conduct on-the-job training, re-training, re-certifications and examinations as established by the Company to qualify employees to perform work tasks.
  • Ensure employees are trained and qualified to perform work activities.
  • Report fully and completely to management about all activities that affect safety and revenue service.



Safety



  • Communicate to and train employees and subcontractors on safety standards and procedures.
  • Protect your own safety as well as the safety of co-workers, passengers, subcontractors and subordinates.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments and perform other safety related measures to reduce and eliminate safety hazards.
  • Enforce the Company's safety policies and standards, correct unacceptable behavior and levy discipline when an employee actions compromises safety.
  • Report fully and completely to management about all activities that affect safety and revenue service.



QUALIFICATIONS

Education



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and specialized training from a recognized technical tradeschool in mechanical, electrical or electronics.



Experience



  • 5 years of experience in maintenance in transportation industry preferred.



Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Intermediate skill levels in Microsoft Office and Windows Operating Applications.


  • Qualified in all vehicles maintenance work procedures.
  • Certified in all vehicles department Certification requirements.
  • Qualified in all Safe Work Procedures and Company Safety Standards.
  • Ability to use MAXIMO and have oversight of MAXIMO use by direct reports and subcontractors.
  • Ability to create NPRs and track steps from proposal to invoice.
  • Ability to detect and respond to employee's and subcontractor's issues and safety concerns.
  • Ability to execute work activities according to availability and reliability metrics.
  • Ability to plan work and work schedules, activate and de-activate work permits.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies and other events that affect revenue service.
  • Record and track work in Company systems, i.e. MAXIMO.
  • Supervise and evaluate subcontractors' work.
  • Adhere to organization's targets, budget, overtime, penalties, etc.
  • Ensure work schedules are balanced and penalties are minimized or avoided.
  • Adhere to all policies, protocols and procedures to report employee and system related events.
  • Adhere to all communication protocols to report status of system to management, client and emergency responders.
  • A valid driver license in accordance with NY State DMV laws.



Physical Requirements

Must have physical capability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds four (4) feet.
