Essential Job Duties
This position is responsible for preparing rental vehicles, university-owned vehicles, and equipment for use. Duties include performing light vehicle maintenance, cleaning vehicles inside and out, and supporting daily operations at the motor pool and fuel island.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean the interior and exterior of vehicles to university standards.
  • Check and maintain proper fluid levels and tire pressures, including the spare tire.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and windshield wipers.
  • Complete a vehicle preparation checklist for each vehicle serviced.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wash bay area.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and organize supply cabinets.
  • Operate and maintain the water reclaim system for the car wash.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of the car wash and fuel island.
  • Transport vehicles to and from the Motor Pool area as needed.
  • Drive and park a variety of fleet vehicles, including cars, vans, trucks, and equipment.
  • Inspect vehicles for damage or mechanical issues and report findings to the Supervisor or Dispatcher.
  • Refuel vehicles and check all fluid levels.
  • Drive a 15-passenger van for extended periods as required.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.


Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform manual labor and vehicle maintenance tasks.
  • Comfortable working independently and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
