This job description outlines the responsibilities for a position that supports the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Regional Offices with award administration and related tasks. Below is a detailed breakdown of the key responsibilities: Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Data Technician: Pay commensurate with experience. Data Technician Responsibilities Include: Document Management & Uploads:
- Ensure all award-related documents (e.g., new awards, modifications, vouchers, reports) received by ONR Regional Offices are properly uploaded to ONR's post-award filing systems (e.g., Electronic Data Access (EDA), Enterprise Award File (EAF), Delivery Schedule Manager (DSM)).
- Ensure that data related to these documents is complete and accurate in the applicable systems, including the ONR's Contract/Grant Award Management Information System (CAMIS), EAF, and DSM.
Data Entry & Updates:
- Enter new award data (e.g., Award Entry Sheet for new awards) and update modifications in DSM (e.g., extending periods of performance).
- Ensure that data entry and document uploads are completed in a timely manner, usually within three business days of receipt.
- Follow up on pending actions with government staff if the tasks are delayed, ensuring updates are completed.
Federal System Entries:
- Ensure modifications issued outside of a contract/award writing system are entered accurately in applicable Federal systems (e.g., FPDS-NG).
- This task may involve using a system like the Contract/Grant Award Writing System (CWS) if necessary.
Modification Assistance:
- Provide draft administrative modifications in ONR's award writing system (e.g., ePS, PPS) or Microsoft Word when requested.
Award Closeout Assistance:
- Proactively identify awards ready for closeout and notify the appropriate contact within the Regional Office.
- Ensure that any missing documents or acceptances are identified, and notify the appropriate staff.
- Track attempts for final acceptance and assist in obtaining missing documents or final reports as needed.
Document & Information Management:
- Assist in ensuring missing documents or information are obtained for active awards (e.g., interim reports, updating points of contact).
- Work towards a paperless environment by scanning, shredding, and preparing records to send to federal records centers.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with meeting setup, taking minutes, and handling taskers.
- Provide general support for other administrative projects or tasks related to the Regional Offices and Code 24.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
