Job Title: Supply Chain Director

Summary:

The Supply Chain Director is accountable for achieving the People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost targets (PSQDCC) through the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model.

They will ensure that the Supply Chain Strategy is deployed in the plant and manage together with the team both the physical and informational flows from the customer to the supplier.

They will ensure the best OTD to the customers (both internal and external) at the lowest cost level (logistics, current inventory and physical flows). Develop the team as well as the site steering committee to implement/run integrated business processes including SIOP and MPS.

The Supply Chain Director is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence in their Site, in line with the execution of the Industrial Strategy.

The Supply Chain Director is accountable for creating a 'Great Place to Work' through developing first class leaders and driving a culture of continuous improvement, safe working and open dialogue.

Responsibilities: As the Supply Chain Director, you will:

  • Role model a culture throughout the site that is aligned to the United Safety PASSION values, by motivating, encouraging and recognizing the contribution of Team Members.
  • Hold Group Leaders, Team Leaders, MPAs and all support staff accountable to embody the United Safety PASSION values.
  • Be Open and honest when appraising and managing individuals' performance, while supporting and coaching individuals to close performance gaps.
  • Exemplify a safety-first mindset, ensuring that the United Safety Health, Safety and Environmental policies are applied, and the site is a model of a world class working environment.
  • Supervise the work of two or more employees.
  • Develop first-class Leaders, who embody the United Safety PASSION values and are readily able to progress to their next level or take other roles in the business.
  • Lead and develop the Site's Leadership team in the delivery of People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets, meeting customer and stakeholder commitments.
  • Drive the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model (LOM) across the site, with active involvement in problem solving and the management system. 'Go to Gemba' is the approach taken to understand and solve problems.
  • Ensure that the LOM is the single methodology for the deployment of the strategy for the Site and ensure that this is coordinated across the Site Leadership Team.
  • Contribute to the United Safety Industrial strategy as part of the Operations Leadership Team and ensure its execution.
  • Hold the Site's functional leadership and the Business Process Owners (BPOs) accountable for deploying the Global standards and meeting targets within the Site.
  • Ensure the disciplined execution of Daily Management and Standardized work, through the conscientious adherence to Leader Standard Work.
  • Contribute to the Site strategy through the Hoshin Kanri (Strategy Deployment) process and ensure its execution across the Site.
  • Drive and facilitate the Engagement of all team members, ensuring engagement actions are defined, implemented and followed-through.
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements and ensure that staff are aware of policies and their individual responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

You're a great fit for this position if this describes you;

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in an Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant business experience.
  • Previous experience in a Supply Chain Leadership team.
  • A deep understanding of metric driven performance management.
  • Ability to influence across functional lines within company and within supplier organizations.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor highly skilled and experienced direct reports.
  • Able to become Lean Advanced Certified within the first six-months of the role.
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certified.
  • A track record of people Leadership with effective communications, building effective teams.
  • Evidence of leading a site governed through a Business Management System.
  • Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
  • Able to demonstrate adherence to standardized work, and a track record of Kaizen implementation.
  • Self-motivated to meet and exceed the PSQDCC performance targets.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring error-free documents and effective interaction with internal and external contacts, utilizing tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and understanding of ERP systems.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, while responding and adapting to change favorably.
  • Safety is at the forefront of your mind when working, and you follow all policies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Able to travel about 10% of the time for general business needs.
  • Bring with you a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Help United Safety operate effectively by adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Understanding that you are part of a growing company, you have no concerns with and able to work extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays to support that.
