As a Senior Product Designer for Credit, you will be responsible for designing and delivering meaningful and impactful experiences for our customers and contributing to PitchBook's market success. You will be critical in creating exceptional products for private equity investment professionals, empowering them to synthesize financial data, research, and insights to inform their investment strategies and achieve better outcomes.

With your deep expertise in user-centered design, strong business acumen, and analytical skills, you will conduct research and analysis to understand customer needs and behaviors, develop design strategies and innovative product experiences, and leverage traditional and emerging technologies to bring them to life. In this role, you will partner strategically with product and engineering team members through the entire product development lifecycle and engage key stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and drive understanding of your product experience strategies and solutions.

You will own and drive the user experience in your product domain and contribute to driving product direction, identifying and prioritizing the most significant opportunities to support our users and the business while maintaining a strong sense of product ownership and its resulting success. You will lead initiatives and product strategies delivered by multiple teams, sometimes leading other designers to deliver coordinated roadmaps and releases. You will also contribute to the growth and development of product design practice, mentoring team members and contributing to critical product design initiatives and programs.

Primary Job Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with product and engineering partners to understand user needs and market dynamics, shape product strategies, define detailed requirements and designs, and support successful releases
  • Identify and frame high-impact user and business problems and define experience strategies and solutions that drive measurable outcomes
  • Create customer journey maps, flows, and conceptual designs to inform product strategy, influence priorities, and shape impactful solutions
  • Translate abstract ideas into simple, elegant, and innovative designs through sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity design deliverables
  • Recognize interdependencies across features and product areas; collaborate cross-functionally to deliver cohesive, end-to-end experiences
  • Measure the effectiveness of design solutions and continuously identify opportunities for refinement and improvement
  • Champion continuous improvement in design processes, team collaboration, and product outcomes by exploring new methods and practices
  • Contribute to the evolution of design practices, tools, and systems that elevate the craft and maturity of the design team
  • Act as a culture carrier by modeling company values and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment
  • Engage in cross-functional initiatives and company-wide projects as needed
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested



Skills and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Design, Human Centered Design, Psychology
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Product Design/UX role, ideally in a large business or enterprise environment, working on complex data and productivity solutions
  • Expert-level knowledge of user-centered design practices and demonstrated experience applying them to deliver end-to-end projects and achieve business and market outcomes
  • A portfolio of past work, including concepts, ideation, flows, completed designs, and final deliverables demonstrating clear design thinking and craftsmanship
  • Strong demonstration of design thinking skills, use of modern design best practices, and ability to create innovative and meaningful experiences that deliver user value and business results
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and support design decisions and how they add value to the product
  • Strong analytical skills, using qualitative and quantitative data to guide design decisions
  • Experience balancing multiple projects, organizing priorities, and delivering with discipline
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the work you lead and deliver
  • Intellectual curiosity, structured thinking, and a collaboration-driven interaction style
  • Humility, enthusiasm, and ability to build relationships, foster trust, and develop shared understanding
  • Passion and enthusiasm for your craft and aspiration to excellence
  • Proficiency with Figma, collaboration, and analysis tools (Miro, Lucid, Mixpanel, Fullstory) with the ability to quickly pick up new systems and software

Compensation



  • Annual base salary: $145,000-$175,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 12%



*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
