The Simulation Coordinator Registered Nurse applies adult learning theories, principles, and innovative learning strategies to assess, develop, implement, debrief, and evaluate a variety of education programs coordinated through our simulation program. Working without supervision, this role collaborates with interprofessional team members and provides their expertise in experiential learning across the organization to develop effective simulation experiences. |

Develops effective simulations and experiential learning education by identifying objectives, partnering with key stakeholders across the organization, consulting with content experts, and ensuring alignment with organization policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice. Customizes simulation and experiential learning to the target audience and expected outcomes to ensure a psychologically safe space for learners while ensuring patient safety and accomplishing organizational goals and metrics. Evaluates simulation and experiential learning education to ensure objectives are achieved, learning needs throughout the education are addressed, insights from debrief are captured, and simulation educational offerings are continuously improved. Identifies and analyzes metrics and data for the simulation program to measure impact, identify areas for improvement, and drive change. Completes administrative duties for the simulation program, including preventive maintenance of equipment, warranties, vendor communication, troubleshooting equipment, software updates, and ordering supplies, all while being fiscally responsible. Performs other duties as assigned. |
EDUCATION: |
Required: Master's Degree |
EXPERIENCE: |
Required: 5 years as a Registered Nurse and 3 years in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state Certified in relevant clinical specialties BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider |
