Your responsibilities
Job Summary The Finance Risk Analyst at thyssenkrupp Materials plays a crucial role in identifying and mitigating potential market risks within our portfolio. This is a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of commodity markets and risk management principles. This person is passionate about navigating the complexities of the market and possesses exceptional problem-solving skills. Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Ensures appropriate application of accounting policies (mark to market) and procedures in accordance with the relevant statutory and thyssenkrupp Group policies and procedures
  • Partners closely with the Head of Base Metals Trading and various other internal and external stakeholders to make recommendations
  • Participates, with hands on responsibility in monthly, quarterly and annual closings and financial reporting and performance of the division, customer, and supplier account reconciliations and other reporting as required
  • Monitors financial instruments, such as futures, forwards, and swaps- expiry dates and positions for the Metals Industry
  • Conducts regular risk assessments and provides insights on potential market risks within the commodities portfolio
  • Develops and implements risk management strategies to mitigate potential market risks
  • Monitors and analyzes commodity market trends, including supply and demand factors, geopolitical events, and regulatory changes
  • Collaborates with traders and other team members to identify and evaluate potential trading opportunities and associated risks
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of risk management activities and reports

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years experience in Finance/Accounting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in accounting, commerce, and business, gained either locally or abroad
  • Significant financial and analytical skills within a commercial environment, preferably gained within a larger group with international exposure
  • Experience in Base Metals Trading, Commodity Hedging, LME/CME, risk management and mark to market reporting is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail with a focus on teamwork
  • Comfortable in a fast pace environment and display a high level of enthusiasm to contribute to the team and overall performance of the company

  • Knowledge of general processes and practices related to the position.
  • Skilled in verbal/written communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to take initiative and achieve results.
  • Able for accurately assess, research, and analyze information to make sound decisions.
