Age Specific Responsibility

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

Summary

Provides direct care for Applied Behavior Analysis patients.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • As part of an interdisciplinary team, implement behavioral programs, interventions, and strategies developed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Observe, measure, record, and report client's behaviors as part of the Behavioral Assessment process and in relation to their goals and objectives as part of the Behavioral Treatment process.
  • Develop, organize, and manage all materials necessary for program implementation.
  • Participate in consultation sessions with the treatment team and parents.
  • Complete required documentation according to protocols and within outlined time parameters.
  • Perform all other appropriate activities as directed and as necessary to meet the patient's needs and to achieve expected departmental and organizational outcomes.
  • Provide various other responsibilities and clerical/therapist support as delegated by Manager.

Customer Service Responsibilities

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.

Responsibilities in Quality Improvement

Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.

Essential Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or institution of higher learning preferred. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field.
  • Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team in the field of behavior change desired.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to take directions and problem solve issues.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Current Michigan driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Course for HealthCare Providers
  • RBT certification required within 90-day probationary period.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency with the use of computers and knowledge of operational procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to exert up to 10-20 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time)
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull, up to 10-20 pounds occasionally
  • Able to sit for the majority of the time but may involve brief periods of time involving walking or standing.
  • Able to use keyboard frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time)
