The Manufacturing Technology (MT) Manager is responsible for leading a team of MT Improvement Engineers to drive continuous improvement, optimize manufacturing processes, and implement innovative solutions at our ingredients manufacturing facility. This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, product quality, and sustainability while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Role and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Technology Improvement Engineers to execute process improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, problem-solving, and innovation within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance, to achieve plant objectives.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements to enhance yield, efficiency, and product consistency.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations and performance issues.
Operational Support & Troubleshooting:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for manufacturing processes, troubleshooting complex production challenges.
- Establish and refine process control strategies to maintain operational consistency.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, food safety standards, and corporate policies.
Training & Knowledge Sharing:
- Develop and deliver training programs for engineers and plant personnel on best practices, process improvements, and new technologies.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team and across departments to build technical expertise.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) required. Advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing process optimization, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the ingredients, food, or chemical manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
