The Application Analyst - Epic Radiant / Lumens supports the implementation, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing operational support of Epic Radiant and Lumens applications across Dell Medical School's clinical environment. The primary focus of this position is Epic Radiant, while also supporting Lumens as imaging services continue to expand. This role partners closely with clinical operations, imaging leadership, providers, application analysts, and technical teams to support post-go-live stabilization, workflow optimization, quarterly Epic upgrades, integrated testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Purpose

The Application Analyst - Epic Radiant / Lumens serves as the subject matter expert and technical resource for Epic Radiant and Lumens applications, with primary responsibility supporting Radiant workflows and additional support for Lumens. This role collaborates with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to support application build, configuration, workflow analysis, post-go-live stabilization, operational support, integrated testing, quarterly Epic upgrades, and continuous optimization while ensuring reliable application performance across imaging services.

Responsibilities

Application Implementation and Support

  • Design, build, configure, test, maintain, and optimize Epic Radiant and Lumens applications supporting imaging services and related clinical workflows

  • Analyze clinical, operational, and technical workflows to develop effective application solutions

  • Serve as the liaison between imaging operations, providers, Information Technology, application users, and vendors to resolve complex issues

  • Support application build, configuration, operational support, and post-go-live stabilization activities

  • Participate in break/fix support and ongoing workflow optimization initiatives

Workflow Analysis and Optimization

  • Conduct workflow analysis to identify opportunities for operational improvement

  • Design and implement Epic Radiant and Lumens application solutions that support departmental and organizational needs

  • Collaborate with imaging departments and operational leaders to prioritize application enhancements

  • Recommend workflow improvements that improve efficiency, user satisfaction, and patient care

  • Support continuous optimization following Epic implementations and quarterly upgrade cycles

System Maintenance and Testing

  • Maintain and support Epic Radiant and Lumens applications

  • Perform configuration validation, debugging, integrated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Develop test scripts, timelines, and testing plans supporting application changes and quarterly Epic upgrades

  • Coordinate testing activities across applications and participate in end-user validation efforts

  • Ensure application changes follow established change management procedures

Technical Collaboration

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, integration, database, and technical teams to identify and resolve issues impacting Epic Radiant and Lumens applications

  • Support cross-functional problem solving and operational improvement initiatives

  • Participate in planning, implementation, and optimization efforts across imaging applications

  • Communicate technical recommendations and operational impacts to stakeholders

Operational Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Provide ongoing operational support for Epic Radiant and Lumens applications, including break/fix support, enhancements, upgrades, and change requests

  • Support quarterly Epic upgrades, new releases, application enhancements, and post-go-live stabilization

  • Follow established ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives supporting imaging workflows and application performance

Marginal or Periodic Functions

  • Assist with additional Epic modules as operational needs require

  • Provide backup support during peak workloads or staffing shortages

  • Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives

  • Perform related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field

  • Minimum of five years of experience supporting Epic applications, healthcare information technology, or clinical information systems

  • Experience supporting application build, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and optimization within a healthcare environment

  • Experience performing workflow analysis and partnering with clinical and operational stakeholders to improve application performance

  • Experience supporting integrated testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and application validation activities

  • Experience supporting post-go-live operations, break/fix support, and ongoing operational maintenance

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five to seven years of experience supporting Epic applications within a healthcare environment

  • Experience supporting Epic Radiant is strongly preferred; Epic Lumens experience is highly desirable as imaging services continue to expand.

  • Experience with Epic Radiant and/or Lumens application build, configuration, workflow optimization, and operational support

  • Experience supporting post-go-live stabilization, quarterly Epic upgrades, integrated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Demonstrated experience participating in Epic application build, implementation, optimization, and enhancement initiatives

  • Experience supporting imaging workflows, radiology operations, or other diagnostic service environments

  • Experience with online scheduling design, implementation, and workflow optimization

  • Experience working in large, integrated healthcare IT environments

Licenses/Registrations/Certifications

Required

  • Active Epic Certification, Accreditation, or Proficiency in a relevant core Epic application

Preferred

  • Epic Radiant Certification

  • Epic Lumens Certification

  • ITIL Foundation Certification

  • Active Epic Certification, Accreditation, or Proficiency in related Epic applications

Salary Range

$95,000+ depending on qualifications
