Unlike many other internship programs, we strive to simulate a full-time job, enabling our interns to work hands-on with cutting-edge technology, contribute to meaningful projects, build strong relationships with coworkers, and develop strategic problem-solving skills. Our program is highly selective, hosting only a handful of interns each year, ensuring personalized attention and ample opportunities to work closely with BlueHalo team members. As an Optical Engineering Intern, you will work closely with an experienced engineering team to support the design, development, and testing of tracking and laser weapon systems. You will directly contribute to multiple systems and gain experience in both theoretical and practical engineering. You will gain experience in key areas such as optical design, system integration, testing, and data analysis.

Qualifications:

- Recent graduate or final-year student with a degree (or equivalent) in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field

- Strong understanding of optical and mechanical principles, Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and optical design tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V)

- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product development lifecycle

- Familiarity with optical testing equipment, mechanical analysis, and simulation tools

- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically, Communication and teamwork skills

- Ability to manage time efficiently and work on multiple tasks simultaneously

- Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship is required
