Lead - Skid Structural

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

* Schedule work flow for subordinates based on production requirements to minimize production disruptions, equipment failure, downtime, and corrects any unsafe conditions.

* Ability to provide the following:

* Site safety - The lead will ensure that high standards of safety re being met in area of responsibility and keep all employees aware of dangers in work area. Insure all safety issues/concerns are addressed with HR/Safety Director for solution.

* Maintain a clean work environment.

* Ability to prioritize tasks.

* Ability to provide accurate and helpful information concerning area of responsibility.

* Ability to communicate and resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner.

* Assists in administering performance reviews for subordinates and administers disciplinary action when warranted.

* Ability to handle problems and facilitate successful outcomes.

* Maintains adherence to company policies.

* Performs a variety of complex tasks.

* Ability to perform "hands on" duties as required.

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years minimum in manufacturing environment as a Skid/Structural welder/fitter
  • Basic Computer skills, and/or other required software
  • Ability to lead, oversee, and mentor department to provide the following:


    • Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Complete understanding and knowledge in all processes relevant to the scope of the company business.
    • Must have the experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.



Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



  • Lifting up to 30 lbs. occasionally
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
