GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Business Systems Analyst facilitates & leads others in defining, developing & delivering IT technology solutions through collaboration with leaders to gather & prioritize market & client requirements. This BA will play a key role in ensuring projects & initiatives meet objectives by increasing adoption & usage. This role will focus on business processes, systems & systems integration to identify issues, drive delivery & adoption. Will support the complete Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including: discovery, planning, requirements gathering, specification documentation, testing, training, implementation & support.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Learns & understands business area processes & operating models; translates business needs into new technologies/applications & performs high-level troubleshooting
  • Ability to convey & sell the recommended changes ultimately seeking buy-in & alignment across business teams
  • Assists with developing project estimates, project plans & implementation schedules for assigned area in order to effect a broader variety of business solutions
  • Understands the IT strategic & tactical goals in order to focus functional team(s) on highest business impact by working through others to ensure tasks are adequately defined, planned & completed
  • Directs the business requirements gathering process by responsibly collecting, analyzing, reviewing, documenting & communicating business needs to ensure the proposed solutions meet business requirements
  • Tests system changes/enhancements related to assigned processes to ensure changes satisfy business requirements with no negative impact
  • Documents work, including change requests & functional specifications, end user documentation, release notes, etc
  • Facilitates meetings/task groups, tracks & influences task progress & tracks deliverables in order to effectively resolve customer & vendor issues


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience within industry


5 years' Information Systems/Business-related experience



  • Experience in healthcare and/or insurance industries
  • Experience with databases, ability to create, execute & understand SQL queries to assist in data research
  • Strong voice of reason to know when to challenge the status quo
  • Change agent to influence business partners to look at processes from a different perspective
  • Experience with collecting requirements & implementation details, implementing solutions & providing technical support
  • Experience creating wireframes, visual designs, mockups, etc.
  • Clear & practical understanding & experience integrating technical services which support applications & users in the organization
  • Highly proficient & knowledgeable in MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Experience with configuring and/or using SAP or other configurable ERP solution
  • Experience with financial business processes (payments, billing, cash application)
  • General experience with Facets or other claims processing applications
