Role Summary:

The Contract Safety Specialist will support several key initiatives as part of the quality department at Electrify America. The role will report to the Manager, Quality System & Safety and will support product and service safety for the company including data analysis, process improvements, vendor management, and overall safety practices. The candidate will be a motivated early to mid-career professional with strong technical acumen related to complex products and services and the ability to analyze data and interpret results using a variety of statistical tools and methodologies. An ideal candidate is one who is highly motivated to learn and grow in their career leveraging both technical and leadership skills while participating in a rapidly emerging industry. Candidate should have experience working in a high-tech related industry where the pace of innovation requires constant problem-solving to ensure safe and reliable performance of technical assets.

The responsibilities of the position will include documenting and reporting safety incidents working closely with the network operation center, customer contact center, service operations, senior safety engineer, quality, and lab personnel. Individual will help ensure key information is captured as per defined processes and that any service components required for analysis are identified to logistics for return to our lab facilities for analysis.

The Safety Specialist will interface at times with external partners including equipment manufacturers, service and maintenance vendors, and automotive OEMs on key safety topics as required. They will drive best in class incident reporting and create a system of documentation and compliance. Candidate will create technical reports and summaries of incidents and perform statistical analysis to determine incident rates, analyze trends, and determine risk of occurrence.

Role Responsibilities:

Safety Data Analysis and Follow-Up - 60%



  • Manage safety cases in excel workbook and/or in IntellaQuest QMS software.
  • Analyze and interpret safety data to identify trends and potential areas of improvement.
  • Perform statistical analysis on safety cases and create data driven safety reports and presentations for management.
  • Identify details related to new safety incidents per defined processes
  • Analyze logs and other data elements.
  • Facilitate return of all necessary components to the lab facilities coordinate with service teams and logistics.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to management and external partners as required, obtaining internal approvals and clearance on content.


Safety Process Development & Compliance - 25%



  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards per defined processes
  • Support tasks as aligned with safety engineering to identify potential safety risks through data driven analysis and propose preventive actions.
  • Perform process reviews or internal audits as required to support program
  • Perform field inspection or visit vendors to review documentation as required


Management Presentations - 15%



  • Present monthly safety KPI updates to management.
  • Present key safety topics in calls with equipment manufacturers and drive improvement actions as required.

Qualifications

Years of Relevant Experience:



  • 2-5 years


Education (Required):



  • Bachelor's Degree in science


Education (Desired):



  • Advanced Degree


Skills:



  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to track, follow-up and communicate milestones.
  • Strong and proven self-management abilities and ability to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills including understanding of complex issues and properly communicating issues to other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem solving and process improvement capabilities.

  • Demonstrated record of precision & integrity in past work assignments.


Specialized Skills (Required):



  • Advanced statistical analysis capabilities.
  • Experience using Jira, Salesforce, Confluence, Tableau and other collaboration tools.
  • Experience analyzing technical data in a high-tech industry environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of advanced Excel tools such as pivot tables and vlookup.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.


Specialized Skills (Desired):



  • Experience with advanced data management tools such as Python & Alteryx.
  • Experience in charging or automotive industry.


Work Flexibility:



  • Hybrid - 50% office-based, 50% remote
  • Travel-Domestic <10%
