Description
Role Summary: This position is responsible for the timely preparation and submission of vehicle emission certification documents (including applications, running changes and field fixes) to the appropriate government agencies, the entry of test vehicle emission certification data into government databases. This position also fields technical and regulatory questions from internal and external groups (including questions from government agencies), and acts as a representative of the Volkswagen Group in discussions with government agencies. These tasks require a high level of accuracy. Role Responsibilities: Emission Certification Testing Submission & Analysis - (70%) * Prepares, reviews, and edits emission certification applications and submits to appropriate government agencies via electronic means. * Execution of pre-certification responsibilities: project consulting, create test plans, coordinate mileage accumulation, develop deterioration factors for exhaust/evaporative emissions * Execution of certification testing responsibilities: Coordination/supervision of verification/certification/fuel economy testing, Submit test data to Agencies, communicate certification status to internal customers * Prepares, reviews, and edits running change/field fix documentation and submits to the appropriate government agencies via electronic means. * Reviews technical bulletins and coordinate with VWGoA service colleagues to maintain consistency/transparency between certification and service related documents. * Communicates the status of the emission certification process to ensure that certification is completed efficiently to support vehicle market introduction. * Inputs Volkswagen Group vehicle emission test data into government databases. * Analyzes and distributes vehicle emission test data for vehicles that have been tested at government agency test laboratories. * Makes arrangements for the shipment and receipt of test vehicles to support groups' activities. * Supports other EEO regulatory activities as required. Communication and Special Projects - (30%) * Maintains a professional relationship with Certification and Technical groups at the Volkswagen Group Development and Emission Certification Centers (Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Bugatti). Responds to certification/regulatory related inquiries from these groups. * Responds to requests for vehicle specifications and emission data from various organizations. * Prepares, reviews, and submits the Volkswagen Group Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (for qualifying vehicles) to appropriate government agencies. Directs contact with internal marketing/launch teams to ensure rebates are available and achieved for qualifying vehicles. * Maintains and edits EEO (Vinnie) website to ensure latest documents are available throughout the organization. * Responds to technical and certification / regulatory related inquiries from government agencies. Specialized Skills - Desired: * Direct experience with emission certification and emission testing. * Direct experience with onboard diagnostic system applications. * Ability to document work product and processes affecting EEO. * Domestic and international travel required - up to 25% (2-7 day duration). * Work schedule can be somewhat flexible (e.g., flextime, or compressed work week).
