Langley Federal Credit Union has proudly served members since 1936, offering financial solutions to help individuals and families reach their goals. This summer, we're excited to launch our first 10-week Summer 2025 Internship Program-an opportunity for motivated college juniors and seniors to gain hands-on experience in the financial industry. Full Time (40 hours/week) attendance will be required, on site in Newport News, VA, from Monday June 2 - Friday August 8.

Internship Overview

The Application Developer Internship involves analyzing, designing, developing, and documenting innovative solutions that enhance user experiences for Langley Federal Credit Union members while automating business processes for internal staff. The intern will work both collaboratively within the Application Development team and independently on solo software development projects, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technology solutions that support the organization's objectives.

Responsibilities



  • Employs Test Driven Development for new and existing applications or programmed solutions.
  • Performs decomposition of documented design into technical specifications. Translates use cases into functional working applications that deliver the expected user experience.
  • Builds user interface applications and back-end databases using programming and scripting languages.
  • Ensures technical documentation is aligned with the application produced. Maintains the code repository for the assigned development projects.
  • Creates and tests bug fixes and other enhancements for applications in production.
  • Develops full-stack solutions, working on both front-end and back-end components, using languages, including, but not limited to, C# and JavaScript.
  • Assists in setting up and configuring Azure environments for application deployment.
  • Assists business units with User Acceptance Testing.


Qualifications



  • Junior or Senior currently in the process of completing a Four-year degree from a college or university specializing in Computer Science or related field(s).
  • Must have completed coursework in C# and Java.
  • Prior application development experience outside of course work desired.
  • Familiarity with adapting various APIs for custom applications preferred.
