OVERVIEW

We are looking for a creative, dedicated individual to join our team as a Social Media Coordinator in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office. The Social Media Coordinator will create original content for social media that tells the story of Merrick, our culture, our services, our work, and our people, focusing on copywriting and coordination of graphics with our creative team. The Social Media Coordinator will also participate in quarterly meetings with the Director of Marketing and Communications, Creative Manager, and market-focused groups across Merrick to generate content ideas, schedule posts in our work management system, ensure relevant approvals on posts, and post to Merrick's social media channels. Ultimately, you'll deliver quality social media content that tells Merrick's story, appeals to our audiences, attracts clients, helps recruit talent, and boosts brand awareness.

The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the marketing team to maintain editorial calendars for all social media channels. The social media coordinator must have a curiosity about our business and how we do things to effectively communicate timely content that will be of interest to external audience.

A successful social media coordinator will have great communication, research, and teamwork skills.

Typical pay hourly range for this position is $28.85 - $36.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Promote/strengthen Merrick's brand through social media content
  • Contribute to and maintain social media calendar/scheduler to manage content across all channels
  • Plan, organize, and execute social media campaigns
  • Write clear, user-friendly copy to promote our services, highlight our culture, and support marketing plans, objectives, and campaigns
  • Create compelling posts, in conjunction with the creative/graphics team, that will capture the attention of the target audience
  • Collaborate with creative team to create an integrated story told through both text and graphics
  • Edit and proofread new content before publication
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions on social media platforms
  • Analyze social media performance data (engagement, reach, etc.) to determine the effectiveness of created content and work with Marketing Director to identify areas of improvement
  • Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews, industry trends, and studies) for potential content ideas
  • Collaborate with other business units, departments, and marketing team members to brainstorm content and align social media efforts with company and business unit goals.
  • Work independently to draft more basic content and with guidance from Marketing Director or more senior editorial staff for more complex posts
  • Follow internal development and review processes, including marketing team review process and final approvals process with the technical team and others
  • Ensure all-around consistency in tone and follow the Merrick brand standards
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends, best practices, etc.
  • Optimize content for search engines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • 4 years of experience in social media coordination
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms and their best practices
  • Experience developing content based on research using multiple sources, including interviews with subject matter experts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in social media management or digital marketing
  • Experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Experience in copywriting or a related field
  • Knowledge of Monday.com
  • Knowledge and experience with SEO
