Title Specialist I (Private Seller Exchange)

The Title Specialist I performs administrative and transactional services in support of various vehicle operations functions, including those associated with auctions, operations, logistics, inspections, dealer services. In this role, you may work with vehicle titles, registration and/or other documents and records. You will ensure all documents and records are prepared, verified and filed according to company and regulatory requirements. You will ensure all administrative services are performed in accordance with business, process and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process and re-assign titles for vehicle sold by auction.
  • Examine vehicle title for accuracy and conformity to specified requirements. Verify acceptance of the title in the state for which it is filed. Confirm accurate Vin number, odometer reading, release of liens, and that title contact no alterations, etc.
  • Determine negotiability of title document and assess for potential fraud. Report any title discrepancies.
  • Resolve Title issues through interactions with customers, dealers and regulatory agencies. Work with manager/supervisor to negotiate price adjustment between buyer and seller for a title problem if necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations as they relate to vehicle titles and interpret titling regulation in each state for which vehicles are processed.
  • Receive and if necessary, route telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner to the appropriate personnel or department.
  • Run outstanding title reports, review and contact sellers regarding outstanding titles.
  • Perform other duties such as processing sale day transactions using the AS400 and provide customer service.
  • Verify purchases in-lane using the DVR
  • Access and or add client information from Auction Access
  • Assist in sale day Settlement balancing
  • Ensure Front counter coverage
  • Visibly demonstrate commitment to Client Satisfaction modeling the behaviors of Cox culture.
  • May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per weeks) as business needs dictate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
  • May be required to travel and or work overtime as business needs dictate.


Qualifications:

Minimum-

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Generally, less than 2 years of related experience required in the auction/automobile industry or at the DMV
  • Effective communication skills required
  • Must possess good problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Basic computer and software skills required.


Preferred-

  • Prior titling experience is preferred
  • Notary license preferred


USD 16.15 - 24.23 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly base pay rate is $16.15 - $24.23/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
