Scope Of Position:

Assist Corps Officers with all programming and administration assignments as described. Assist in the growth and implementation of The Salvation Army Gresham's programs, policies, and practices. Position will require an emphasis on corps and social service outreach programs including, but not limited to: youth programs, seasonal programming, holiday assistance, and data entry.

Education And Work Experience:

* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
* Oregon State Driver's License.
* 2 years or more experience with Salvation Army programs preferred.
* Must be able to read, write and communicate well.
* Bilingual in Spanish, helpful but not required.

* Act and dress in a professional manner, wearing a Salvation Army uniform when appropriate.
* Maintain a valid Oregon State Driver's License and be over the age of 21 for auto insurance purposes
* Must successfully complete The Salvation Army's driver safety program before driving and will be required to recertify annually as required.
* Working knowledge and ability to use computer systems, including PowerPoint, Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* To assist the Corps Officer with the planning, implementation, and leadership of ministry programs.
* To lead, assist, and support all ministries including but not limited to: Women's Ministry, Men's Fellowship, spiritual-based Youth Programs, Sunday School, Sunday Worship, spiritual-based weeknight activities, and outreach.
* To serve as an additional Corps Contact Person for questions regarding ministry programs, activities, or events.
* Coordinate a wide variety of ministry projects and programs including but not limited to: Corps Ministry Programs and Activities, Youth and Adult Retreats, Divisional and Territorial events, and fundraising efforts associated with event costs.
* Develop and utilize volunteers to help in the implementation of ministry projects and programs.
* To assist with corps statistics, collecting and submitting statistics, and maintaining Corps Management System for programs that pertain to them.
* Help with coordination and implementation of seasonal activities including Angel Tree Toy Assistance as well as summer camp recruitment and fundraising.
* To lead, assist, and/or support with Easter, Vacation Bible School, Back to School, Thanksgiving and Christmas events.
* Assist with EDS Efforts including overseeing maintenance of all equipment, team development, deployment, and community relations.
* Interact professionally in all contact, especially with guest base, donors, board members, community partners and Salvation Army staff and volunteers.
* Be a member of the corps community relations team representing and telling The Salvation Army story to community partners, donors, and the community at large.
* Assist in social services programs such as on site and outreach food distribution, homeless services, senior/community center activities, community center meal program, and other social services programs as needed.
* Assist in transportation of program participants, social service donation pickups, seasonal kettle workers, camps, divisional and territorial events, etc.
* Assist in coordination and management of volunteers.
* Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to sit, move, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on intermittent or continuous basis.
* Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
* Ability to operate telephone.
* Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.
* Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
* Ability to understand written information.
